Tears to Cheers!

Pythons All The Way!

Before anything else, I would like to thank everyone for all the prayers, love and support! Our team really appreciate everyone and the kindness that has been shown. We all needed it. We needed that encouragement and the warm encompassing feeling of knowing others were actually walking with us, rooting for us and cheering on us!

Pythons, that’s the name of our cheering squad. I’m glad to be part of this team! I’m proud to say that we made a history, we are the first Treston International College’s cheer leading competition CHAMPION!  There were days when members wanted to give up, the squad wanted to back out, when we thought it’s hopeless. But I salute us for still dragging our feet and fight to stay on the court  and to continue our fight not only for ourselves but for our school, School of Hospitality Management. I’d just like everyone to know that I am proud of our squad. We, the members, get along well, work hard, we’ve been practicing stunts and pyramid for like two months. The good thing about us is we didn’t worry too much about the competition.. wait it’s not because we’re confident, conceited or whatever but we just enjoyed the moment. We had the so called “Team Spirit”. Yes! Team Spirit: thinking of others, losing oneself in the group for the good of the group. Team Spirit is not just willing but eager to sacrifice personal interest for the welfare of all.

Some of our members thought that they are not good enough to be on the team, Hey! you’re amazing! Each person in our team is important. I’ve learned from them not to be afraid of failure. Keep in mind that we are all going to fail at times. None of us is perfect. If you’re afraid of failure, you will never do the things you are capable of doing. I still can’t believe that we’re able to do the pyramid but yeah we made it happen!

Again, each person in our team is important; the lifters, the flyers, the dancers, the captain, the choreographer and the coach for stunts. We had this strategy of mixing all those people and the skills together, we then had this amazing force which helped us to take on any challenge, create ideas and concept, and continuously push the squad to be the best!

Our team is like a family. We lean on each in the hard times, we solved our problems together, we prayed and offered everything to Him. I guess I’m lucky cause it is rare to find a team so connected. Thank you everyone for the hard work! Thank you for the laughs and tears we shared. Thank you for pushing the limits and for your commitment! Cheers and congratulations to us! ★
